    WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU, DAY TO DAY

    The Head of VSIRT will work as a member of the Global Cybersecurity organization in the Cyber Defense function, which is focused on defending Visa from cyber threats and minimizing the impact to the organization of any security incident.

    The successful applicant will lead the VSIRT function globally, and be part of the Cyber Defense Leadership team, reporting into the Head of Cyber Defense.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage the VSIRT regional teams in UK, US, Singapore, taking responsibility for incident response activities globally.
    • Ensure all security incidents are handled effectively and according to appropriate procedures in order to minimise the impact to the organization.
    • Own the incident response play books, coordinating regular reviews and desktop exercises, ensuring they remain effective and fit-for-purpose, and aligned with the wider Business Incident response Plan (BIRP).
    • Manage incident bridges and coordinate the response to incidents (incident commander skills).
    • Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Engineering teams to optimize detect and prevent capabilities and increase fidelity of alerts.
    • Collaborate with other Cyber Defense functions in relation to forensic investigations, threat intelligence and incident response tooling and automation.
    • Develop and oversee performance management and career development pathway of VSIRT resources to drive career progression and retention.
    • Ownership of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other reporting metrics to track progression and demonstrate quality of service.
    • Coordinate Reponses to internal and external audits focused on incident response.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE:

    • At least 8 years’ of relevant experience in cybersecurity with at least 3 years' experience of leading a large team.
    • Significant experience leading an incident response function.
    • Desirable to have experience operating within a global organization across different time zones.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards and frameworks e.g. ISO27001, NIST, CIS, OWASP, SANS.
    • Qualifications within Cyber Security (e.g. CISSP, CEH, GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GMON) are desirable.
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of responding to security incidents as part of a specialized incident response function.
    • Strong working knowledge and thorough understanding of Protective Monitoring, Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting
    • Knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of security technologies and processes.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of current exploit techniques, vulnerability disclosures, data breach incidents, and security analysis techniques, combined with the understanding of the potential impact on the security posture.
    • Familiarity with operationalizing the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.

    NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Leadership skills - the ability to take command in a high-stress situation
    • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills at both a technical and non-technical level.
    • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate a large team.
    • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Outstanding critical reasoning and problem solving skills.
