IT100 - Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician will be responsible for manning the VyStar 24x7x365 data center network operations desk. This position will handle Level 1 and greater troubleshooting for many areas including: Windows Server, LAN/WAN Networking, SAN, Security, Wireless and VoIP, application monitoring, mainframe operations and batch processing operations. Position monitors the VyStar technology Infrastructure, equipment and application availability and performance. This role will be expected to closely monitor system, network and applications and assist in the resolution of high-severity outages of critical systems and IT Infrastructure. The NOC Technician will learn and utilize VyStar s current tools and reports to evaluate system alerts, health and performance in evaluating system availability. Upon indication of a major incident, the NOC technician will be responsible for contacting IT personnel to begin triage of issues. Position will report to the Manager of the NOC. This is a shift position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Participates in a 24x7x365 Network Operation Centers (NOC) shift support. * Understands and utilizes VyStar monitoring tools to proactively evaluate system health * Configures monitoring tools per established standards. * Understands System Service Level Agreements and act on system resolution accordingly * Performs initial issue diagnosis and system restoration * Provides Tier 0 and 1 support of identified system issues. * Escalates issues and events to management and appropriate technical teams or vendors. * Coordinates escalation and support activities with 3rd parties or field engineers, utilizing vendor ticketing portals. * Participates in efforts to identify root cause and recommend improvement solutions. * Monitors execution of VyStar batch process, File Transmissions, and ACH activities. * Utilizes the trouble ticket system to log all requests and activities including documentation of special requests and customizations considered important for future support * Reviews key reports for management including but not limited to:nbsp; system availability, service level agreements, ticket resolution and customer issues: identifying trends for proactive issue avoidance. * Actively improves system knowledge base with improved processes, standard operating procedures, and system documentation. * Other duties as assigned Incumbent is expected to demonstrate each of the following VyStar Excellence behaviors in performing the duties and responsibilities of their job.nbsp; * Focus: Focus your full attention by carefully listening to and observing your client or member. * Connect: Consistently be friendly and approachable. nbsp;Demonstrate you care. * Understand: Listen empathetically and ask questions. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS amp; ABILITIES * Must have at least 2 years of experience in an operations or network technician position. * Experience in troubleshooting, process workflow and communication skills are a requirement. * Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing network analytical tasks. * Must have excellent problem solving skills. * Knowledge of Network and Application Monitoring tools. * Knowledge of network commands and tools such as Ping, Traceroute, NSLookup. * General familiarity of IT infrastructure such as data networking (routers, switches, WAN), servers (Windows), VMWare, SAN, security, wireless, VoIP, etc. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Experience in Financial Services/banking or Credit Unions would be advantageous. * Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) * Must be willing and able to work shifts to support a 24x7x365 environment, including weekends and holidays.
