Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing and/or assisting in system verification testing activities; assisting in maintaining and implementing the test methods and procedures necessary for the verification of business applications; performing others duties as required to ensure that the products or features meets the planned quality level. A key component of this position will be facilitating user acceptance testing prior to deployment of modifications, enhancements, or new applications.

This individual will interact with other Westlake departments as a service-provider, and interact with external entities such as technology vendors. 

The successful candidate is self-directed in work prioritization and will demonstrate good judgment-making ability within the scope of the position’s areas of responsibility.  The associate will perform all duties in accordance with Westlake policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

The candidate for the position of QA Analyst must meet the following qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer information systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • Two years of experience in a relevant field such as information technology, finance domain, etc.

• Strong skills in Database Testing and thorough knowledge in SQL/PL*SQL • Proven ability to design test plans, scripts, and supporting documents to deliver testing in functional and non-functional areas (i.e., performance, stress, load, resilience, availability, and operational). • Advanced understanding of software development processes and test methodologies including functional, unit, feature, regression, and scalability. • Experience leveraging quality management software to analyze real-time business data • Experience working with large, complex systems. • Ability to develop positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members. • Ability to provide both detailed information as well as high-level summaries to management. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for the position of QA Analyst has the following qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer information systems, etc. • More than four years of experience in a relevant field such as information technology, higher education, etc. • General knowledge and experience in test automation using multiple testing tools and products. • Understanding of persona-centric design and UI/UX concepts.
