We are Whitlock, a well-established, on track to becoming a $500M video collaboration/integrator with our headquarters in Richmond, VA. Overview of Role: To meet our rapid growth, Whitlock is looking to add a Financial Analyst to provide in-depth analysis of financial transactions/trends and support to our business leaders and Accounting team. The candidate must have experience with analytical analysis, strong Excel skills and general understanding of accounting and flow of transactions. This role will conduct extensive research of transactions and processes, analyze revenue and costs, recommend corrective actions, assist with documentation of procedures and instrumental in the monthly closing process. We are looking for a person who is very detailed and curious on how transactions flow through the ERP system and comfortable understanding system configurations. While this role with often work independently, we must have a person who is collaborative and can work well with many cross-functional teams. This person must have confidence, high-energy and able to communicate in simple terms at all levels in the organization. This person will have great latitude in helping shape the future path of our Financial Planning & Analysis function. While this role will initially report into the Accounting Manager, this position is intended to be a more forward-looking role Primary Responsibilities: Perform data analysis to identify unusual transactions and assist in adjusting and implementing corrective actions as warranted. Conduct flux analysis of spending and digging into source data to explain and validate transactions. Work closely with business leaders, IT, corporate support and 20 branch locations to help research and explain transactions. Provide in-depth research of the transaction flow through our NetSuite ERP system and management tools. Prepare management analysis and financial reporting. Assist Accounting team with month-end closing activities and special projects. Keys to Success: We need an individual who: Has a natural curiosity and enjoyment of digging into data and systems. Is able to take direction and work independently yet is a team-player with strong relationship building skills. Is well organized and very detailed. Can handle multiple priorities. Has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to articulate finance related issues to non-finance people Advanced Excel skills. Job Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. Ideal candidate will have three years experience either in Accounting or Financial Planning & Analysis. Public Accounting experience highly desired though this is not an accounting role. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
