Underwriting Internship Summer 2019 (New York City) Zurich is currently looking for a Commercial Underwriting Intern, to support our Commercial Insurance team working out of our New York City, NY, office. This intern will work under immediate supervision. Performs requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally this position is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor. Zurich does not offer school credit for Internships. This position will be responsible for: * Underwriting basics Mentor will teach what an underwriter does by topic. * Basic business unit financial reporting, e.g. Daily Sales Report and Bound not Booked * Pipeline management Run report for targets by broker through the end of the year * Preparation and participation in Presentations and Stewardship meetings * Loss Summary review and inputs * Attend a broker meeting with Mentor * Estee-Lauder WC posting notices and doctor panels distribution * Financial reports for upcoming meetings through UW Desktop and Power BI You will learn: * Organizational Skills * Presentation skills * Insurance Underwriting basics * Collaborate with team * Time Management skills * Relationship management importance in establishing Basic Qualifications: * Actively pursuing a Bachelors degree * Trainee / Intern no experience required * Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2019 * Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA) * Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely Preferred Qualifications: * Computer skills (Excel, powerpoint etc) * Communication skills (verbal and written) * Finance, marketing and economics basics * Presentation skills Imagine working for a company that truly cares about their employees, customers, stakeholders, and communities they serve.
