  • Responsibilities

    The goal of this internship is to convert to a full-time position.

    The Index Licensing Administration Team operates under the Global Information Services (“GIS”) group and is responsible for index contract execution, annual, monthly & quarterly billing, collecting Assets Under Management (AUM) reporting and the collections process.

    The Index Licensing Admin Team is also responsible for administering these licenses in accordance with their respective terms and conditions which includes calculating and invoicing all license fees based on the terms of the contracts. In addition, Index Licensing also supports finance, sales and index products. Promotion and sales of index licenses are negotiated through the Nasdaq Index Licensing Sales Team by way of participation in industry conferences, direct contact with issuers and extensive working relationships between Nasdaq and their customers.

    The Index Licensing intern will learn how to operate the systems utilized on a daily basis in order to complete day to day tasks, ad hoc projects and the broader summer intern project.

    The intern will be working alongside the Index Licensing team as well as teams Index Licensing supports, such as Index Sales, Index Products and Finance. Some day to day activities may include:

    • Contract reconciliations/ Contract Realignment Management
    • Calculation verification activities
    • Account reconciliation activities
    • General support for ad-hoc requests from sales, finance and products
    • Asset Under Management (AUM) tracking and comparing activities
    • Revenue share reconciliation activities
    • Trademark/Index activity reconciliations

    • Financial background
    • Legal background in finance (for contracts)
    • Familiar with SAS, SQL and general database skills
    • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and/or databases, MS Office (MS Access, Excel, Word)
