Nasdaq is seeking highly motivated Software Engineers interns to join a small, highly collaborative team and create the next generation of data products for trading and investing.

You’ll work on real-world problems in a dynamic environment with talented team members to deliver quality software.

• Participate in all phases of software life cycle including architecture, technical design, implement, test, and launch
• Contribute towards overall quality, scalability, system performance, or security of shared services components
• Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements, implement new functionality and drive continuous improvements

Successful candidates will be curious, independent thinkers who are excited by challenges and driven by building great products. They will play a key role in developing Nasdaq’s Machine Intelligence product offerings.*

• Participate in early stage of projects in defining the platform for the next generation machine intelligence products
• Build APIs and processing pipelines for multi-tenant, high-volume, and real-time system on the Spark platform incorporating lambda architecture
• Work with data scientists and data engineers to transform complex analytical models into scalable, production-ready solutions
• You will develop applications from ground up using a modern technology stack such as Python, Core Java, Spark, Lambda, Postgres, NoSQL, Kafka, and Presto
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to develop experiments to validate new product ideas
• Stay current on technological and analytical trends
• Be passionate about experimentation and testing new ideas
• Maintain a positive attitude

Skills Required:

• Excellent problem solving ability
• Good Programming Skills: Python, Core Java, Scala, SQ
• Solid communication skills: speaking, writing, presenting
• Experience working in a professional, delivery-oriented environment
• Unix/Linux including commands and scripting
• Working with cloud providers, microservices architectures

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with financial data sets and use cases
• Knowledge in high-throughput, low latency systems
• Experience with parallel computing technologies: Spark, Kafka, Presto, Cassandra, etc
• Experience in agile software development
