The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with a unique opportunity to experience a challenging and immersive 10-week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning & development opportunities as well as “lunch and learn” sessions with senior leaders.

This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August. Upon completion of this internship, outstanding interns will be evaluated for full-time opportunities with NASDAQ post-graduation.

Objectives of this Role

Our Team

The Information Security Architecture team is where we design and build security solutions for the public cloud at Nasdaq. Our team works to analyze business requirements, diverse technology stacks, and new developments in the public cloud space in order to design and implement security solutions for Nasdaq in AWS, Azure, and GCP. Additionally, the Information Security Architecture team stays on top of the latest trends in software development in order to inform and help our partners in development to build securely from the start. If you enjoy the challenge of working with new and emerging technologies and building solutions to secure them, you've found the right team.

Project Overview

• Development of Infrastructure as Code Compliance Checks (Rego, Open Policy Agent (OPA))
• Research security best practices for new technologies and implement guidance for Nasdaq development and operations teams
• Build an exceptions process for an existing cloud compliance program using Python, SQL, and REST APIs

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

Your Role

This internship role will work hand-in-hand with development groups within and outside of Information Security to build security solutions for public cloud. You may find yourself working on improvements to a technical compliance program one week and developing security best practices for new tech stacks the next.

Skills and Qualifications

• Is working on completing a degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or related field (must be graduating in 2022)
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Providers (eg. AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code Development (eg. Terraform, Cloud Formation Templates, Open Policy Agent, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Has working knowledge in Python, SQL, Javascript (Python preferred)
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control (git)
