    Job Description

    The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with a unique opportunity to experience a challenging and immersive 10-week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues, and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning & development opportunities as well as “lunch and learn” sessions with senior leaders.

    This Nasdaq Internship runs for 10 weeks commencing from June to August. Upon completion of this internship, outstanding interns will be evaluated for full-time opportunities with NASDAQ post-graduation.

    Objectives of this Role

    Our Team

    The Business Controller team oversees the financial operations of Nasdaq’s North American Market Services unit. In partnership with business managers, we develop and prepare this business unit’s financial plans and budgets, interpret financial reports and conduct analyses of standard business and financial decisions.

    Project Overview

    In partnership with the business controller team, the intern will work towards achieving the team’s 2021 goals such as:

    • Streamlining capital allocation process across all products within the North American Market Services business unit
    • Developing better reporting practices for Product Profitability Model (expense management model provides a cross-sectional view into product profitability that enables us to understand, control expenses, and better manage/improve product margins)
    • Ad Hoc analysis in support of monthly and quarterly forecast processes
    • Ad Hoc analysis in support of monthly and quarterly Close and earnings processes

    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

    Your Role

    We are looking for a dynamic intern to join and contribute to our team. The intern will have the responsibility of providing support to the individual Business Control leads. This support includes and is not limited to:

    • Assisting in monthly accounting close process, forecast process, and budget activities to facilitate better business awareness and resource planning
    • Conducting preliminary analyses of competitors, benchmark data, operational effectiveness, prospected mergers and acquisitions to guide business decisions
    • Preparing reports to fulfill the need for financial follow up within this business unit
    • Creating best practices templates for different internal processes, systems, and tools frequently used by the team
  • Qualifications

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Is working on completing a degree in Business, or Finance, or Accounting, or related fields (must be graduating in 2022)
    • Knowledge of common financial concepts and practices, including forecasting, budgeting, and related analysis and processes
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated self-drive and well developed organizational skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
    • Project management skills
    • Preferred Skills: Familiarity with SQL/R or BI tools (Qlikview, Power BI, Tableau)
