  • Responsibilities

    The District Manager - Retail Channel for Manhattan is responsible for all sales and executional activities within the assigned geographic territory. This person will manage and develop sales and relationships directly and through others with distributors, key accounts and outlets.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide knowledge, insights and business-customers intelligence on its territory to feed New York plans
    • Provide analytical assessment of competitor insights, initiatives, and in market activity to NY Sales Manager
    • Manage the sales and delivery process to all existing customers within an assigned area, and directly manage the business with key buying outlets.
    • Execute the New York retail plans.
    • Insure that product availability, brands, and shelf positioning are consistent with standards planned for the outlets. Sell additional, complementary packages, promotional/display activity to accounts and develop a sustainable relationship with them.
    • Manage distributor relationships, brand education, sales communications, organize monthly business meetings, assist and support the regular distributors meetings, schedule work with days and lead corrective actions when needed within territory
    • Lead new business acquisition within the assigned territory
    • Responsible for the look of all Danone Waters brands within assigned territory. Identify and manage, directly in coordination with distributors, the execution of trade merchandising, specific store displays (coolers, and racks, shippers, windows) and local activations.
    • Leads local marketing events and staff trainings where needed.

    Knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Selling skills, ability to understand and sell in programs to the on retail channel.
    • Ability to effectively operate in a multi-dimensional, complex environment and interact with all levels in organizations.
    • Great autonomy in a day to day organization and strong capacity to work within a team
    • Fundamental understanding of business planning and marketing plan knowledge.
    • Ability to cultivate growth using analytical skills while viewing financial data to evaluate the profitability of existing and new accounts.
    • Facility with numbers, numerical information, and basic trade math
    • Capacity to prepare business presentations and great ability to present internally and externally

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Minimum 2 years of CPG Sales experience
    • Minimum 1-year Key Account experience preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
