  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a motivated student to hire for our Electrical Engineering Co-Op opportunity. As a Co-Op you will assist in several projects within our Argo Plant. Those projects could be but aren’t limited to improving existing databases, data collection tools, reviewing existing electrical documentation, and the development and improvements of electrical system models for computer studies and simulations. Other projects might include the analysis of results to find opportunities for optimization of power distribution and improvements in reliability and energy savings.

    As the Electrical Engineering Co-Op, your responsibilities will include:

    • Familiarity with all aspects of plant electrical system, ranging from 138 kV supply, 12 kV distribution, and generation to utilization at various voltage levels
    • Proficiency with the E-Tap software, its database, and results of short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
    • Mastering the use of other tools used in the plant, ie. Meridian, Aspen, and Intellution
    • Evaluating opportunities for improvement in existing databases and data collection systems
    • Evaluating existing studies results using available E-Tap modules by confirming them with actual, real-time measurements
    • Analyzing and modifying existing input data and methodology used to make sure that the results are accurate
    • Recommending changes to improve system stability, optimize selectivity of protective devices and reduce arc flash hazard

  • Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
    • Ability to work 40hrs per week during the Co-Op term (May 2021 – Dec 2021)
    • Ability to tackle problems, identify improvement opportunities, implement action plans and follow-up to ensure results
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and prepare concisely written reports
    • Proven analytical problem solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills
    • Experience with PC Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Electrical engineering knowledge, especially as it relates to power distribution networks preferred
    • Ability to self-teach using manuals, documentation, and online information

    To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

    • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
    • Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
