Ingredion is hiring a Summer Intern to support our Eastern Region Accounts team in the US/Canada region in new product development and creating customer valued solutions. The Summer Intern will be responsible for developing/preparing food formulations and prototypes for various customer and business initiatives on a pilot plant and lab bench top scale utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices. They will perform research related duties as needed or assigned, support internal and external customer request; execute on analytical testing as well as document and prepare technical reports with guidance from manager.

As the Technical Service Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing work project(s) to meet project timelines and deliverables
• Analyzing and understanding data, results and scientific literature to advance projects
• Maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Follow established guidelines for good housekeeping, GMPs, SafeServ and safety
• Working collaboratively with Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectives
• Presenting prototypes, project status, updates and outcomes to team and key stakeholders
• Making presentations and writing technical reports
• Innovative, self-motivated and high level of enthusiasm for the job
• Have a passion for food science and curiosity for learning
• Are ambitious, able to prioritize, well organized, detail oriented, good with time management and deadlines
• Are collaborative and can work well with others
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
• Must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
• Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term
• Experience with hands-on food concept development with laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment is a plus
• Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred
• Excellent organizational, communication skills
• Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day
• Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
• Collaborate with direct Manager and Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectives
• Have a passion for food science and curiosity for learning
• Are ambitious, able to prioritize, well organized, good with time management and deadlines
• Motivated to demonstrate the capacity to learn, utilize, and strengthen understanding of the function of our products and how they interact with other ingredients in a range of applications
