    JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

     

    This position contributes to Starbucks success by supporting our globally complex, vertically integrated operations. By managing the day-to-day operations of HFM Oracle general ledger and related applications, this role is responsible for driving the month-end financial close process and providing user support, such as troubleshooting, input on business requirements, system maintenance, training and system, internal control and process enhancements Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles and values.

     

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

    • Supports the monthly financial close process by monitoring task completions, informing users of system outages and providing user assistance on an ad hoc basis
    • Oversees application governance for HFM systems as well as Oracle general ledger
    • Manages loading of financial data between systems and ensuring data integrity
    • Develops, publishes and maintains financial reports
    • Manages Oracle general ledger, including cross-validation rules, security rules, open/close periods, managing/creating FSG’s, etc.
    • Provides end user support, such as troubleshooting and managing user access requests, for HFM, Oracle General Ledger and related applications
    • Manages FDM mapping, creates locations and manages security
    • Ensures appropriate internal controls are followed
    • Understands job requirements and performs internal controls, including providing evidence of internal control performance to management as well as internal and external auditors
    • Coordinates issue resolution with Information Technology (IT)
    • Documents and communicates problem resolution with user community
  • Qualifications

    SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE 

    • Experience with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle (4 years)
    • Prior experience utilizing the General Ledger (2 years)
    • Progressive accounting or finance experience (2 years)
    • Development of business requirements (2 years)
    • Project Management (2 years)
    • Bachelor’s degree (required); accounting or finance emphasis (preferred)

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Working with the general ledger (2 years)
    • Progressive accounting or finance experience (2 years)

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

    • Highly collaborative including with cross functional teams
    • Ability to interact effectively at various levels of the organization
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively in a fast paced environment
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle or other ERP) preferred
    • Knowledge of SOX and importance of internal controls
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with
    • technical and non-technical audiences
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
    • Experience or aptitude to work with business intelligence and reporting tools (Hyperion, OBIEE and Power Pivot)
    • Ability to work independently
    • Displays initiative and has the ability to improve processes and document work performed
