    Reports to: Global Chief Innovation Officer

    We are seeking a highly motivated and creative MBA student to join our team for an internship in the Global Innovation Group (GIG) for the summer of 2021. As an MBA Marketing & Communications Innovation Intern at Ingredion, you work under the guidance of our Global Chief Innovation Officer. You will have the opportunity to work with members of our cross functional teams in Innovation, Communications, Marketing, and growth business platforms. Your projects will focus on outreach, marketing, and communications, helping to develop engaging and compelling technical content for a variety of customer facing media. You will have the opportunity to help shape and develop comprehensive and integrated communications and marketing plans with meta goal of advancing the impact, services and outreach of Ingredion Innovation.

    As an MBA Marketing & Communications Innovation Intern, your responsibilities will include:

    • Collaborating with key stakeholders to brainstorm tactics, create technical messaging, define positioning, and develop technical content specific to our key audiences for Innovation
    • Technical storytelling and content development for trend reports and articles to help position Ingredion as an indispensable partner for our customers and a thought leader in the industry, bringing our Be What’s Next Ingredion brand positioning to life
    • Connecting and collaborating with cross functional teams to develop and execute on a strategy to implement digital content on various customer facing communication channels (e.g. websites, social media, blogs, video, audio, e-marketing) that supports Ingredion Innovation strategic goals and key initiatives
    • Monitoring R&D / technical research to ensure the development of robust and timely external communications
    • Monitoring competitor technical communications closely and use insight to inform global communications strategy and action plans
    • Initiating process to define and share metrics of marketing & communications strategy traffic and customer / end-user engagement using graphic representations of data and best practice reporting methodologies
    • Helping to build the profile of our technical Subject Matter Experts around the world as a way of differentiating Ingredion’s capabilities vs. competition
    • Writing and editing copy for range of materials for various media channels
    • Working with the Technical and Marketing teams to ensure all current relevant communications collateral is up to date, and maintains digital content
    • Performing other ad hoc duties as related to marking & communications for the GIG

    The MBA Marketing & Communications Innovation Intern position is well-suited for you if you:

    • Have strong skills in communications, strategy, and an interest in keeping up to date with the latest developments
    • Have a strong technical understanding and an ability to synthesize simply complex technical concepts into engaging, accurate, impactful customer-friendly content
    • Are an excellent team player and collaborator while operating independently on initiatives
    • Have strong work ethics and are able to uphold the values and goals of Ingredion
    • Are excited to help inform the world of what Ingredion Innovation is doing
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a thirst to learn more about the company and our products
  • Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • Progress towards a Masters in Business Administration Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business/Management or Food Science Innovation or a related function preferred
    • Scientific undergraduate degree or equivalent background preferred
    • Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term (May – August)
    • Strong proficiency using Presentation and other MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong business insight and continuous improvement mindset
    • Proficiency in Microsoft® Office applications and related business and communication tools, including Adobe® Acrobat, Photoshop preferred
    • Demonstrated experience collaborating with various stakeholders at many levels
