The Mill Supervisor reports to the Business Unit Manager. This position is responsible for leading the Milling Department on their specified shift. The primary responsibility is to ensure milling operations meet or exceed the department/plant metrics for safety, quality, production, cost, delivery, sustainability, morale and more. This position requires a strong understanding of how the milling process works.

Understanding of milling and wheat cleaning systems and equipment
Understanding of wheat and flour storage and pneumatic conveying
Ensures compliance with all regulations and procedures for safety, GMPs, and food safety
Works directly with employees to efficiently execute milling operations and objectives
Understands production lines from end-to-end and performance success
Partners with Maintenance team to drive the manufacturing strategies within the Milling department
Partners with Plant Leadership to drive milling initiatives to successful conclusions
Leads Milling Department to drive preventative and autonomous maintenance solutions and provide proper training of the hourly employees
Create the environment for root cause analysis to work toward sustainable solutions
Support training for designated shift in department
Engagement in all aspects of the milling operation to ensure yield and throughput goals are met
Assist in the operation and troubleshooting of all milling department operations
Evaluate and optimize milling process performance
Looks for and implements changes in the operation to enhance efficiencies, yield, and throughput and promotes continuous improvement
Provides continued training and development of all milling staff on designated shift
Maintains a positive departmental morale
Inform Management Team of any problems that could affect plant production, product quality, yields, or unnecessary downtime
Manages the housekeeping to ensure a clean and sanitary mill department
Supports fellow Management Team members with issues that arise
Ensure GMP practices are followed and adhered to
Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned
Education / Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor´s degree (preferred)
Job Specific Requirements:
At least 3 years of Flour Milling experience
At least 2 years of experience in a Food Manufacturing environment
People management experience
Microsoft Office experience
Safety experience
Problem solving skills
Knowledge of working in a Union environment (preferred)
Demonstrated leadership and change management skills
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in reading, writing and speaking the English language
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $73,900.00 - $92,400.00; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. The salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
