    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Nutrition Science Intern will perform systematic review of clinical trials that used dietary fiber for Ingredion’s Nutrition, Health, and Wellness Platform. As part of the Global Scientific & Regulatory Affairs organization, you will have primary responsibilities revolving around the evaluation, development, and implementation of fiber-related projects and initiatives. Your expertise will be essential in improving product claims, ensuring compliance, and guiding new business opportunities. The major responsibilities of this role include:

    • Clinical Trials Review and Claim Development:
      • Understand the structural differences of different dietary fibers.
      • Thoroughly review and analyze clinical trials that involve the use of dietary fibers.
      • Track ongoing clinical trials on relevant fiber ingredients through clinicaltrials.gov
      • Collaborate with the regulatory department to identify potential claim opportunities for the company’s products that adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
    • Guide G2M Materials for Labelling Opportunities:
      • Develop training materials to help G2M understand the beneficial effects of the respective dietary fibers.
      • Provide expert insights and recommendations on the appropriate use of dietary fibers in product formulations (i.e. taking into account approved food categories and use levels as well as tolerance concerns).

    Qualified Candidates Will Have:

    • Educational Background: current student pursuing a Master/PhD degree in a nutrition/biochemistry discipline.
    • Experience in performing systematic review and meta-analysis is required.
    • Research experience in clinical trials and fiber nutrition is preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills with an ability to present to a range of audiences.
