EXCIPIENT FORMULATION INTERN, GLOBAL PHARMACEUTICAL AND NUTRITIONAL APPLICATIONS

Ingredion is hiring an Excipient Formulation Intern to assist with the chemical and functional evaluation of existing excipient lines for the Pharmaceutical and nutritional nutraceutical segment. The intern will, under the supervision of senior staff members, assist with the preparation and testing of pharmaceutical products including, powders, granules, and tablets.

Core Responsibilities:

An intern in the Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical Group, with proper training and oversight, will be required to assist senior staff members with the following tasks:

• Batch preparation activities including weighing, blending, screening, granulating, milling, and tableting

• Powder physical testing (Bulk/tapped density, flow, sieve analysis, etc.,)

• Tablet physical testing (weight, thickness, hardness, friability, disintegration, etc.,)

• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble laboratory equipment.

• Accurately and neatly document process steps completed and test results

• Conduct data analysis and report conclusions

• Provide periodic written or verbal status updates to senior staff members as required.

• Maintain the P&N Formulation laboratory in a state of orderliness and cleanliness

• Follow all existing laboratory safety procedures as well as alert senior staff members about potential safety hazards.

The intern must be comfortable performing the following activities:

• Working with laboratory chemicals and reagents

• Operating laboratory-scale machinery.

• Lifting items weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Standing/working at a benchtop for up to two hours at a time

Qualified candidates will:

• Have completed at least 2 years of a university or college STEM program including, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent.

• Some knowledge of basic Statistics helpful but not essential
