If you are ready to get your career going and apply what you’ve learned in school to real world problems, you’re in the right place. A Plated internship will give you tools you need, like a challenging environment and excellent mentors, to grow yourself from promising, knowledgeable student to qualified new software professional.

You will:

After an initial onboarding period of two weeks where you’ll be trained in nearly every aspect of Plated’s tech-stack, you’ll select the projects that you’d like to work on while becoming a member of an engineering team. Not only will you be working on actionable products that will be customer facing, but you’ll also receive 1:1 mentorship from at least one of Plated’s full-time engineers.

The program is 12 weeks long and begins at the end of May. We will be accepting five software engineer interns for Summer 2018, a select group that will be small enough for you to get to know each other and bond as you learn. Our engineering team is around twenty, so the ratio of senior staff to guide you will be excellent.

Our offices are located in the beautiful Flatiron district of Manhattan, near Union Square, convenient to multiple subway lines, shopping and eating. As a summer intern, you’ll also enjoy a free Plated box every week (two meals for two) while you’re here!

To be considered for this Plated internship, you should also be enrolled in a Computer Science program (or something similar) and will be enrolled next semester as well. Most eligible candidates will be expecting to get their degree (undergraduate or graduate) between Dec 2018 and May 2019. We may also consider strong candidates outside these bounds, such as recent bootcamp graduates.

While we do not require specific programming language experience, being familiar with Ruby on Rails, Javascript, React, Swift and Java is preferred.

We are also looking for a strong interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment and a passion for our mission to make eating well easy for all.
