  • Responsibilities

    Ingredion is seeking a motivated and outgoing student to fill our Technical Service- Systems & Ingredient Solutions Internship for summer 2022. In this role you will support key customer activities including solutions development in various application segments which may include Dairy, Savory, Bakery, or Confectionery applications. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop innovative prototypes to promote newly launched ingredients to customers and collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to achieve project objectives.

    As Technical Service Intern, your responsibilities will include:

    • Understanding how to create value for customers given their technical needs, and identifying how they can improve and expand their product offerings
    • Supporting specific customer projects
    • Executing well-defined experiments and procedures to prepare food prototypes in the lab or pilot plant. Generating valuable data and making it available to the rest of the team
    • Applying product and application know how to identify optimum technology solutions
    • Creating presentations to share prototypes, project status, updates and outcomes to team and partners
    • Managing work packages, working both independently and reciprocally, to meet project timelines and deliverables
    • Analyzing and understanding data, and results to advance projects
    • Maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Follow established guidelines for good housekeeping, GMPs, SafeServ and safety
    • Working collaboratively with Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectives
    • Exhibiting the highest level of professional conduct in all customer and internal interactions

    The Technical Service Intern position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Qualifications

    **Qualified candidates will have: **

    • Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program in Food Science, Nutrition or a related field
    • A minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
    • Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term    
    • Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent organizational, communication skills
    • Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

    • Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
