    Ingredion is seeking a motivated and outgoing student to fill our Technical Service Internship for summer 2021. As the Technical Service Intern, you will support key customer activities. This could be supporting solutions development in many areas, including: Dairy, Savory and Bakery applications. You will get to be creative and assist in the development of ideas for technology improvements and cost savings, all while collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Applications and the Go-To-Market team to promote functional, valuable ingredients and solutions to meet customer needs.

    As the Technical Service Intern, your responsibilities will include:'

    • Understanding how to create customer value for our customers and identifying how they can improve and expand their product offerings, while actively using Food Science knowledge and Ingredion’s technologies and solutions
    • Supporting specific accounts and/or customer projects, all while understanding the internal and external customer’s technical needs
    • Being responsive to customer needs and dedicated in seeking knowledge to improve own understanding and work output
    • Generating and making valuable data available to others
    • Executing well-defined experiments and procedures to prepare food prototypes in the lab or pilot plant
    • Applying product and application know how to identify optimum technology solutions

  • Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
    • Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term
    • Demonstrated experience with hands-on food concept development formulation laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment
    • Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred
    • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills (technical reports for distribution, presentations, data analysis etc.)
    • Proven proficiency using MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ect.)
    • Ability to travel 10-15% domestically

    To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

    • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
    • Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
