  • Responsibilities

    Ingredion is hiring a Technologist to support the design and commercialization of new products and innovative solutions as well as support and troubleshoot issues with products and manufacturing for this segment. The candidate will collaboratively deliver multidisciplinary new product development and applied research projects in Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical segments, executing the defined scope with some level of autonomy. The Technologist will also support the development of Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical capabilities in the organization including providing required education and training and technical advice to customers. The ideal candidate will be able to trouble shoot issues with our products and processes with collaborative support of manufacturing and supply.

    As a Technologist, Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Applications, your responsibilities will include:

    • Working with Business, Marketing, Technical Service and other cross-functional teams to drive new product development and customer projects in these segments. In addition, providing applications expertise for these teams.
    • Managing projects by planning, designing and conducting experiments/trials in the laboratory and pilot plant and conducting data analysis to develop conclusions and recommendations. Executing and/or developing methods for finished applications to assess the performance of ingredients/technologies.
    • Developing and delivering technical presentations to key stakeholders and external customers.
    • Developing industry relationships and networks within organizations like AAPS and IPEC.
    • Completing technical project reports and presentations and providing project status updates, plans, milestones and outcomes to team and stakeholders as required.
    • Conducting prior art and literature searches related to projects and keeping appropriate records to support IP development and patent applications. Staying abreast of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical market trends, IP landscape and relevant emerging technologies.
    • Developing relationships with project teams to gain alignment on scope and ensure projects are completed in agreed upon timelines.

  • Qualifications

    If you hold the following qualifications, we are interested in you:

    • Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Industrial Pharmacy or other related disciplines with 2 - 3 years relevant work experience in Pharmaceutical and/or Nutraceutical field or a MS degree in these disciplines with 0-1 years’ experience.
    • Demonstrated product development or practical work experience and knowledge in these work streams (Tableting, Capsules and/or Encapsulation).
    • Experience in commercializing technologies and/or products. Creative problem solver with a drive for invention and innovation.
    • Experience in pilot plant and manufacturing support is desirable.
    • Experience with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of results.
    • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills, including writing technical reports and delivering high impact presentations internally.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact across functions and to influence stakeholders to gain alignment on project objectives and plans.
    • Travel required to run tests at external facilities, visit other Ingredion facilities, visit customers and attend conferences.
