JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

The BI Applications practice provides information assets for operational, tactical and strategic analysis, and decision support at Starbucks Coffee Company.  This dynamic group develops and deploys robust analytical assets that are built to last and can be leveraged anytime, anywhere, and on any device by the global enterprise.  We are seeking a full-time Application Developer II to join the team.

As a member of the team, you will participate in assessing new projects and data for feasibility, write ODI ETL and OBIEE UI code for new features and important bug fixes, and work to test and release the code through the technical stack.  This role requires a strong team player who has core data warehousing expertise, has built and deployed code for Business Intelligence applications, and has a desire to grow into a leader on the BI Applications development team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Build and enhance Starbucks’ implementation of Oracle BI Apps specifically supporting our Store Development business
• Partner closely with the Store Development business team and BI team members to design and integrate new data into the BI Apps model as well as support existing applications
• Build ETL using Oracle Data Integrator
• Build Reports and Dashboards using OBIEE
• Optimize data loads and UI code for performance and ease of use

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-4 years’ software development experience
• 2+ years of professional experience in developing Business Intelligence applications
• Expert PL/SQL skills
• Experience designing/building/optimizing ETL code using PL/SQL (ODI preferred)
• Experience designing/building/optimizing Reports and Dashboards (OBIEE preferred)
• Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts and star schema modeling
• Experience in SQL performance optimization techniques and best practices
• Basic understanding of ERP systems (supply chain, procurement, financials, planning, inventory – Oracle EBS preferred)
• An understanding of Oracle BI Apps best practices
• Working knowledge of SDLC and Agile Methodologies
