JOB SUMMARY & MISSION
This job contributes to Starbucks success by facilitating the
development of end-to-end supply chain solutions for new products and
influences the go-to- market strategy accordingly.
- Acts as Supply Chain Operations’ (SCO’s) lead on cross-functional
teams (SCO, Category, Creative, R&D, and Regulatory) responsible for
the successful introduction of new products or product transitions
globally.
- Manages and coordinates all aspects of new product introduction and
transition activities within supply chain functions from initial
concept to launch to hand-off to operations to deliver a
satisfactory flow of products to meet customer demands.
- Applies contemporary project management techniques and new product
introduction techniques to execute product launches.
- Drives continuous improvement of the new product introduction
process.
- Represents Supply Chain and typically leads supply chain activities
on complex, longer term product development projects.
- Works effectively with directors and executive level employees
within the function, across functions and with suppliers and service
providers.
- Develops strategies, goals and objectives for the commercialization
team.
- Operates, drives results and set priorities independently, with
little direction.
- Drives improvement to the quality and speed of product launches.
- Improves the effectiveness of the Supply Chain and product launches
via business process improvement efforts.
- May direct the efforts of Commercialization Manager(s) as assigned

- Applies industry based standard project management and product
development methodologies
- Facilitates the definition of scope, project goals, and success
criteria
- Ensures project teams have clear goals, objectives and milestones
consistent with project objective and financial goals
- Rewards and recognizes team’s successes
- Leverages the use of the project management system in the daily and
long range work flow for project and portfolio management
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead domain expertise within a
team environment of cross functional peers
- Extremely organized, able to work independently, multi-task and
manage complex projects in a highly dynamic environment -Strategic
thinker, with well developed leadership behaviors for problem
solving and driving process innovation- Highly effective leadership,
negotiation, influencing, motivational, coordination, and
communication skills across a diverse globally matrixed organization
- Ensures that critical issues are identified and action plans are in
place to address them
- Ensures effective communication takes place in the category and
cross-functional organization
- Clearly communicate project status, risks, and scope creep with
impact to all stakeholders on a regular basis -Communicates critical
issues to senior management
- Merges project management with new product introduction
methodologies
- Coaches and mentors project managers on developing and maintaining
project plans, objectives and schedules that support program
objectives
- Works cross-functionally with business partners, suppliers and other
teams to ensure successful execution of the program
- Ensure all project teams working on the program understand and work
toward accomplishing the business vision, goals and objectives of
the program.
- Analyzes and evaluates project inter-dependencies and their impacts
to the program
- Monitors project execution to ensure that key milestones and
performance parameters are met and that projects are delivered
effectively to achieve the overall goals objectives of the program.
- Communicates program status to participants and stakeholders
accurately and on-time.
- Ensures program governance.
