    JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION 

     This job contributes to Starbucks success by implementing communications programs within a department or business unit. Protects and enhances the Company's internal and external reputation with communication materials. Works collaboratively with team members across the organization to implement communications plans and tactics in a timely and accurate manner. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. 

     

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

     Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

    • Develops and disseminates accurate, relevant and timely information to key assigned internal and external audiences. Evaluates processes, designs and implements improvements. Advises and consults with cross-functional peers on the consistent, accurate and timely implementation of communications and plans. 
    • Implements processes for planning, updating, publishing, editing and archiving communications objectives. 
    • Maintains guidelines for the use of e-mail, voicemail and other communications tools to ensure efficient use of these resources. 
    • Monitors the quality and effectiveness of services received by the mailroom and other support teams. 
    • Supports internal and external communication projects and initiatives, with a focus on the implementation of communication plans. Plans, writes, edits, facilitates, distributes and tracks communication materials. Evaluates processes and recommends solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of existing communications products, programs and processes. 
    • Supports the measurement efforts against campaigns. 
    • Supports the preparation of communications relating to operations, product changes and other initiatives to ensure that field partners and customers receive appropriate communications. 
    • Works with routine guidance from supervisor.
  • Qualifications

    Summary of Experience 

     - Corporate communications, preferably at a multi-unit retailer or an agency 2 years 

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE ARE: 

     - Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, agencies and partners across the organization 

    • Ability to apply general business knowledge and experience in a complex, fast-paced global environment 

    • Ability to implement communication tactics both internal and external within a department or business unit 

    • Basic presentation, oral and written communications skills 

    • Experience in corporate communications, preferably at a multi-unit retailer or an agency 

    • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
