    Job Summary and Mission

    This position contributes to Starbucks success by providing distribution expertise, project management, analytical and influencing skills to support the distribution team in developing innovative, cost-effective and scalable distribution systems that facilitate global growth and generate store and customer value. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assesses the financial and operational impact of business initiatives and recommends or implements solutions.
    • Develops project plans that define scope, schedule, budget and business impact and risks. Executes plans and identifies issues or obstacles, gains alignment and brings to resolution.
    • Leads the design and implementation of distribution processes and foundational distribution systems that improve service or efficiency, increase capacity and reduce costs. Leads the design and implementation of distribution network models that drive business decisions for global market growth and distribution capacity/location requirements. Develops requests for proposal and analyzes bids. Participates in contract negotiations with transportation providers.

    Summary of Experience

    • Food service and food company distribution, either technical or operational (5 years)
    • Operations and transportation (5 years)
    • Performance metrics development and root cause analysis (5 years)
    • Project management (5 years)
    • Order management system(s)

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to lead others
    • Strong coaching skills
