    JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION 

    This job contributes to Starbucks success by helping to ensure our products are compliant with regulatory requirements in the areas of product labeling and international compliance.   This position will provide labeling and international regulatory compliance support on moderately complex food and beverage products destined to our international consumer packaged goods (CPG) business partners.  Key responsibilities will include reviewing labels, managing technical documents, helping our international CPG customers register products with foreign agencies, coordinating certificates and supporting cross-functional teams with regulatory input.  Acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.   SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    - Review and approve label artwork and content and ensure adherence to all applicable rules and regulations - Conduct research and advise on international import requirements and timing - Collaborate with internal and external customers by providing regulatory support to CPG Brand Management, Research & Development, Quality Assurance, suppliers, and importers/distributors - Work with international regulatory partners to secure timely regulatory approval for products being exported globally - Manage technical product documents, including retrieval, review, modification and storage - Resolve issues related to product approval in international markets by obtaining technical product information, supplier declarations/certifications, ingredient information, test results, etc.

  • Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE • Experience with reviewing and approving food and beverage labels: 1-3 years • Experience in interpretation and application of food and beverage regulations in the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia: 1-3 years • Experience consulting stakeholders on how to comply with food and beverage regulations: 1-3 years • Experience collecting, reviewing, and managing technical product information and regulatory documents: 1-3 years

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Current knowledge of FDA guidelines and regulations • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, International Business, International Studies, or a related field • Ability to handle large volumes of technical reports and information in an organized manner • Familiarity with formulation of food products and food processing • Ability to assimilate new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities • Computer proficient, savvy with MS Excel and Outlook • Ability to work independently without close supervision on a daily basis, over time • Ability to navigate through ambiguous and unstructured situations • Ability to communicate effectively and influence internal and external customers • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate outcomes • Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail and remain calm under pressure
