This job contributes to Starbucks success by guiding store location strategy through the analysis, visualization, and dissemination of sometimes disparate and unstructured datasets. The successful candidate will support a full lifecycle of market planning initiatives, from business case development to tactical implementation in areas from store growth models and network analytics to special strategic projects.
This position sits at the center of a cross-functional team of market planners, data scientists and vendors, filling a key project management role while engaging directly in the data, analytics and visualization when relevant. The candidate for this position will be self-motivated, well organized, have a learning mindset, and have analytical, financial, real estate, research and problem-solving skills to succeed in a lean, results-oriented and fast-paced environment.
AS A STRATEGY ANALYST, YOU WILL…
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE WITH:
Experience in statistics, modeling, business intelligence or spatial analytic methods and tools, including:
Geospatial: ArcGIS, QGIS, etc…
Data Flows: Alteryx, SQL, Excel, Smartsheets, Cloud computing (Azure/Databricks, AWS, etc…)
Visualization: Tableau
Demography: Census, population and growth trends applied to place
Demonstrated aptitude to learn technical tools, including those above
Bachelor’s degree and previous positions in business, consulting, strategy or real estate and at least 3 years of experience using statistical methods and analytical tools
Financial and business acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into ‘’actionable information to drive results
