      As an intern, you will be stretched to build on your existing knowledge, challenged to maximize your learning agility, and positioned to make a meaningful and lasting impact on your team. You will connect with senior leaders through your day-to-day work and leverage your entrepreneurial spirit and education as you contribute to the success of Starbucks, while building valuable professional relationships. Starbucks internships are paid, 10-week assignments (6/8/2020 – 8/14/2020; or 6/15/2020 – 8/21/2020) at the Starbucks Support Center in Seattle - our corporate headquarters. 

     

    DURING THE STARBUCKS SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, YOU WILL: 

    • INFLUENCE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE: make an impact through value-add project work. 

    • DEVELOP PROFESSIONALLY: practice the application of your academic learning(s) to a corporate job environment. 

    • FOSTER CONNECTION: grow your network as you meet and learn from Starbucks partners leaders.

     

     

    INTERNSHIP SUPPORT INCLUDES: 

    • RELOCATION & HOUSING: If eligible, Starbucks will provide housing during your internship program. In addition, travel to and from Seattle, reasonable baggage fees where required, and ground transportation to and from the airport on your dates of travel will also be covered. 

    • PAYMENT: All Starbucks interns will be paid an intern hourly rate, not to exceed 40hrs/week.

     

    ABOUT THE BUSINESS SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT

     

    This position contributes to Starbucks success by delivering and supporting technology solutions for Business Systems Development initiatives. As an application developer I, under guidance and direction, you will assess and analyze system requirements, existing business processes and solutions to code, test, debug and implement technical solutions.  This role requires technical expertise and requires an eagerness to develop into a proficient developer in the domain and on the platform. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

    WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM STUDENTS WITH:

    • Proficiency with an object-oriented language (Java, C#, etc.) and a SQL language - Python & GoLang preferred.
    • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and computer science concepts relative to the platform.
    • Proficiency in development languages, tools, frameworks, utilities and technical dependencies.
    • Ability to write and value high quality, reusable software with minimal defects. Ability to learn and incorporate new technologies, concepts and development languages.
    • Ability to absorb new concepts and technical implementation of application architecture, infrastructure and security.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Ability to use business knowledge, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to proactively move efforts forward

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Must actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program

    • Preference for: Computer Science or related field

    Expected graduation date between December 2020 and August 2021 Must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 Must be able to relocate and work full-time for the duration of the internship program Applications must be received no later than January 17, 2020 11:59p PST

    • Please attach a portfolio of relevant projects and any sample work – preferably prior art.
    • It is recommended that students apply no more than two (2) internship opportunities
