    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    The role of Enterprise Data Steward, Data Management and Governance, is an important role in the company’s Chief Data Analytics Office and requires experience and expertise in successfully deploying Data Governance across global enterprises. The primary purpose of this role is to support for the Vice President and their Director for Data Management and Governance in delivering various catalog services which enable the stewards and business stakeholders to search, find, steward, trust and understand enterprise data and analytics, which include Information Architecture and Stewardship practices as well as Data Management and Quality processes. In addition to this, the role will be responsible for;

    • Experience must include hands-on management of Alation Data Governance technology, as well as capability related to the standing up Data Governance organizations and deploying data management quality process improvement initiatives

    • The ideal candidate will possess expert skills in both the tactical aspects of Data Governance, and will be readily equipped to hands-on document and steward the data governance processes

    • Assist and educate data stewards across operating companies and various lines of business to execute Data Governance use cases and oversee the implementation of agreed upon priorities in Alation, working with Data Owners and Data Custodians

    • The daily operations of the catalog including configuration, data source connections, operational monitoring, user access, bulk loads of metadata, management and evolution catalog templates and pages and application upgradesDefining and implementing policies and procedures for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of systems and data — including the intake, storage, processing, and transmission of data to internal and external systems

    • Provides services to internal Data Governance customers and drives the issue management process with the application vendor; including, support of the Data Governance Application including active directory role management, maintaining data, and capability enhancements

    • Configure and maintain enterprise templates various data and analytical objects including data dictionary, business glossary, metrics glossary, articles, etc.

    • Establish connectors and monitor daily jobs for extracting technical metadata from Databases and Analytical Technologies

    The selected candidate will administer the data governance environment at Aristocrat to ensure common data taxonomy; improve role-based data access; data-driven automation for key business practices as possible; and assurance of the Enterprise in the quality of data in use at Aristocrat, whether originating from internal or external sources. The position will administer the data catalog and oversee testing of the platform capabilities. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures regarding data governance, and partner with other key business functions, IT, and end-users in all aspects of Data Governance and Data Management across the Enterprise.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Understanding of all aspects of DATA GOVERNANCE, METADATA AND DATA QUALITY MANAGEMENT

    • Ability to PERFORM DATA INTEGRITY CHECKS, REPORT ANOMALIES and work with the IT team for resolution

    • Capability to drive initiatives within businesses, function, and across the enterprise.

    • Ability to communicate strategic insights and updates with executive stakeholders

    • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills which bring clarity and precision to help management understand and visualize complex material to SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONAL DECISION-MAKING

    • Excellent problem-solving and CRITICAL-THINKING skills to recognize and comprehend complex data governance issues, policies, regulatory requirements and industry information affecting the business environment

    • Ability to apply and coach the principles of OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE, development of problem statements and action plans, as well as value stream mapping AND SYSTEMATIC PROBLEM SOLVING

    • Excellent RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND CONSULTING SKILLS with proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; set direction and approach, resolve conflict, execute with limited information and ambiguity

    • Exposure to multiple business units to understand the linkages and dependencies

    • Experience in dealing with all levels of management in highly complex organizational dynamics requiring adaptability, boldness, and creative forward thinking

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2+ years hands-on operational experience administering Alation Data Catalog or similar comparable tool such as Collibra, Atlan or any catalog tool

    • Experience working in a Data Management, Data Stewardship and/or Data Governance function

    • Strong Technical Expertise with Active Directory, Linux, Alteryx, MS Excel, Post Man, JSON, Restful APIs, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Monte-Carlo or similar data quality/observability tools

    • Demonstrate success in supporting high value projects based on strategic direction, expected outcomes

    • Meets challenges consistently and confidently with energy and drive.  Motivated by results, urgency and personal commitment

    • Possesses high integrity and exceptional work ethic. Fosters mutual trust and respect, and is an excellent team player

    • Experience in online gaming, content or Media & Entertainment industry is a plus

    • Able to work effectively in a highly complex matrix environment, with a proven ability to influence without formal authority and achieve results through people

    • Understands the link between excellence in data acquisition/warehousing/insights, and how to leverage this as a competitive advantage in the marketplace

    • Applies effective communication techniques, engages in focused dialogue, and demonstrates good listening skills

    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

    • Outstanding oral, written and communication skills with the ability to present to small and large groups including Global Executives and deal with unexpected questions and challenges while presenting

    • Excellent and proven project management skills
