What You'll Do

This position is based at the Integration Center at Las Vegas, within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Group. The AME group is responsible for researching and implementing the use of advanced technology in manufacturing operations. They develop efficient systems, processes and machines that result in high-quality assembled products. They also take into account how manufacturing processes impact the environment, worker ergonomics and safety.

Interns will be required to prepare and submit a project report at the end of the 10 week internship. The internship offers a flat per-hour stipend capped at 40 hrs per week and does not offer any other benefits or allowances. Candidates will be required to arrange for their own housing and transport.

Job Requirements

• This is a 10 week fulltime onsite project at the Las Vegas Integration center.

• Assist existing engineering staff in warehousing process design and methods optimization.

• Conduct time studies and value stream mapping related to packaging stations and material picking activities.

• Assist in identifying best methods for material handling and line-side part presentations.

• Create and improve work instructions related to general warehouse activities.

• Understand usage of Bill of Materials, ERP and their role in Inventory Management.

• Assist in identifying barcoding technologies and barcoding methods in inventory management.

• Assist in conductimg dimensional data capture for predictive space requirements in warehouse design and slotting.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or packaging design, entering a Junior or Senior Year.

• Must possess material management and inventory management aptitude within the Factory premises.

• Experience in Microsoft Office and other basic computer usage skills.

• Manufacturing and packaging design principles including barcoding, conveyance, wrapping, bagging, cartoning, filling, bottling, case packing and palletizing.

• Hands-on experience working with ERP systems, PowerApps & Power Automate Flow however proficiency is not required.

• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal direction.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A growth mindset and willingness to accept criticism.
