The Systems Engineer, Gaming Technology Innovation is a strategically forward-looking role that drives the technology research and development initiatives of Aristocrat’s Global Technology business. We research, analyze, conceptualize, design, and integrate bleeding edge future solutions using emerging and existing market technologies spanning Aristocrat’s businesses from online video games, social casino games, game development kits, mobile apps, web platforms, digital displays, streaming technologies, machine learning and blockchain.

In this role you will work with and learn from a team of high caliber professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines (both onsite and remote) as a part of the best gaming research and development team in the industry. What You'll Do

As a Systems Engineer, Gaming Technology Innovation, you will participate in or lead project and research support for:

• Technological research (technology mapping, landscaping, trend analysis, foresight …)

• Provide insights to develop new products, services and technologies

• Identify new applications and markets for existing products, services and technologies

• Solve complex technological problems in production processes

• Interact, educate, collaborate and problem solve with our R&D stakeholders and internal customers

• Define and build the processes and systematic methodologies that allow the continual improvement of productivity, quality, and innovation

• Participate in or lead projects to conceptualize, design, prototype, develop, test and integrate product and service solutions that advance the future of gaming using a wide breadth of skills including software development, mechanical / electrical engineering, creative design and product development

• Work collaboratively and support your teammate’s projects via requirements gathering/documentation, architecture, design, development, defect repair, deployment, and support

• Employ strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills backed by a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the project leader or the Senior Director, Innovation R&D

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

• Demonstrably capable of performing high-level and in-depth research, discovery, and analysis, you are eager to dive into new topics and conceptualize and recommend solutions

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, you are comfortable diving deep with renowned experts and confidently defending your insights, have a strong team orientation and can collaborate with peers, leaders, customers and stakeholders

• Must possess a wide and varied background including exposure to or experience in:

  • Object Oriented Development:  C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, Angular, REST, PHP, database table design, and database queries

  • Server Systems: Application Servers, Web Servers, Database Servers, File Systems, and other online and client-server designs

  • Algorithmic Math:  Logic, Discrete Math, 3D Math, Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra and bit/byte manipulation

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Materials, or Human Factor/Human Interaction Engineering

• ABOVE ALL, YOU MUST POSSESS AN INSTIABLE CURIOUSITY AND ABILITY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS IN NEW AND INNOVATIVE WAYS

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• An advanced degree in Research Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics

• Exposure or experience with any of the following disciplines or technologies:

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotic Process Automation, Homomorphic Encryption, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Robotics, Blockchain, Unity, Typescript, Assembly, Embedded Systems, Mobile Applications, Graphics Engines, Video Software Systems, Sound Software Systems, Cybersecurity
