  • Responsibilities

    The IT Asset Management Intern is responsible for the quality delivery of services in relation to the IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice.

    Familiar with IT and Accounting at basic levels.

    The ITAM team will teach processes and how to use our asset management tools. The ITAM Analyst will support both tracking of physical hardware and software, and will need to be familiar, via education, and or have experience with the following: software licensing management, chassis, blade, and server, CPU, Cloud versus On Premises, inventory, leased assets, Workstation vs. Monitor, laptops and docking stations, memory and other components.

    The candidate will concentrate on reviewing new orders, validating availability, ordering new assets and receiving assets. Must be a self-starter and motivated to work remotely with geographically dispersed collaboration.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Update assets in Asset Management system based on requests.
    • Review and maintain CMDB (Configuration Management Database) to monitor and manage all devices and assets Identify best use through auditing of database and hardware, cross-checking of servers for relevant devices (e.g. radio's, laptops, mobile data) to meet auditing requirements.
    • Troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving issues and trends in liaison with the Service Desk, acting as a point of escalation for any issues that cannot be resolved at 1st point of contact.
    • Manage and maintain the life cycle of devices to include provisioning, repairing and decommissioning to ensure efficient and effective best use of assets.
    • Create articles for the knowledge database to ensure effective information sharing within the team.
    • Responsible for the authorized issuance, audit and return of assets
    • Responsible for managing the requests for loan hardware, including the recall of loaned items, to ensure the hardware items can be tracked and managed
    • Train users and asset owners in process and tools

  • Desired skills
    • The ideal skill set will include moderate-to-extensive MS Excel and data entry experience.
    • Experience with performing searches/filtering/querying is also a must. They will need to know Microsoft Office tools for reporting.
    • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization
    • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills

    • Regularly communicate cost savings through meetings and reports
