    Description & Requirements

    As an Associate Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in helping government clients improve the way public services are designed, delivered, and experienced. Your journey will begin by building a strong foundation in structured research, synthesis, customer journey mapping, and client delivery.

    Working alongside senior Service Designers, Researchers, UX experts, Product Owners and Transformation Leads, you will solve public policy challenges by translating complex requirements into clear, usable artifacts that inform better decision-making and compelling client stories.

    You'll gain hands on experience in client workshops, journey documentation, and service blueprinting while developing the skills to frame problems, generate insights, and communicate recommendations.

    You will also be supported with mentorship, training and on-the-job learning to help you grow your problem solving, design and quantitative analysis skills.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    - Work with customers to understand how their business processes work today, identify areas for improvement, and create process maps to demonstrate how changes will help them .

    - Use quantitative methods and develop statistical models to derive actionable insights, patterns & outcomes from data.

    - Deliver unique technology and business solutions to customers across our business segments.

    - Develop front-end solutions and design/develop and implement software.

    - Develop and execute change management and organizational strategies.

    - Perform project management activities, such as tracking deliverables, creating status reports, managing resource plans and monitoring successful achievement of project goals.

    - Help our customers drive digital transformation by pivoting from “Digital thinking” to “being Digital at the core” through interactive consumer experiences, new applied intelligence, and digital reinvention of industry.

    • Apply a human-centered approach to translate requirements, interviews, quantitative data and other research into structured outputs (personas, journey maps, service blueprints and other visual artifacts)

    • Ensure traceability between requirements and design artifacts to build alignment between client needs and technical delivery teams

    • Support the design and facilitation of workshops by capturing insights, documenting decisions, and producing follow-up artifacts

    • Partner cross-functionally with other teams to understand and recommend public sector best practices to inform design and delivery

    • Build and refine light quantitative models in Excel (e.g. benefits forecasting, service impact analysis) using existing templates, with support and training

    • Ensure deliverables meet a high standard of clarity, polish, and professionalism across digital whiteboarding tools, Excel and PowerPoint

    Minimum Requirements

    - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Informatics, Engineering, or a related field required.

    - 0 - 2 years of related experience required.

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Design, Human Factors, Information Systems, Policy, Business, or related discipline)

    • Strong analytical and communication skills. You are able to bring order to complex information

    • Proficiency in common productivity tools; familiarity with whiteboarding tools and Figma a plus

    • Demonstrated initiative through internships, campus projects, research or leadership roles

    • Curiosity about how design and innovation can improve public services

    Pay Transparency

    Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
