Qualifications: Ball Aerospace 2019 Summer Intern Program: The Ball Aerospace Internship Program is a ten week summer program that provides interns with practical experience working on relevant projects while working with designated mentors; access to state-of-the-art equipment; a competitive wage; relocation reimbursement; in-house training; group activities; possible future employment and the ability to participate in a rocket or high-altitude balloon launch (BIRST) program. At the conclusion of your internship, you will be required to prepare and deliver a formal presentation of your project work to your respective department. Systems Administrator Intern We are seeking a Systems Administrator Intern with Microsoft Windows systems administration experience. In this role, the systems administrator will work on a team supporting program initiatives in secure, isolated computing environments. The administrator will be expected to team with peers, internal customers, and management to support IT infrastructure and services and achieve operational excellence and program success. While this position is an individual contributor role, collaboration and technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes. What You'll Do: * Interface with IT support team in planning for, maintaining, and resolving issues with services and systems. * Install, maintain, and support multiple standalone and networked Windows systems on physical and virtual platforms in support of program initiatives. * Utilize troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively. * Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, application of security controls (including STIGs) and regular security scanning and remediation. * Perform other duties as necessary. What youll need: * You must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2019. We will also accept graduating seniors enrolled in a post graduate program. * Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. * Degree program in Computer Science or related degree. * Active security clearance preferred. * Experience or training in Project Management preferred. * Conceptual understanding of Information Technology. * Strong computer knowledge and organizational skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint). * Solid communication skills ability to lead meetings, speak in front of groups. * Willingness to work in a team environment and able to work independently as needed. * Detail-oriented, hardworking, positive and enthusiastic. Working Conditions: * Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean room, or production floor. * Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
