    The Loan Operations department at Republic Bank of Chicago strives to be a team-oriented environment. With this, the department and its responsibilities are divided into multiple teams.

    While we have openings available in three teams, functions and responsibilities may vary from what is outlined below. During the interview process, we will work together to determine the team that is the best fit for you and your skillset.


    GENERAL FUNCTION:

    Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the loan servicing functions required in order to maintain the bank’s loan portfolio and service all loan customers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Team 1

    • Advance funds for closings and draws.
    • Process loan payments and reversals/corrections, including requests for online dollar payments and transfers.
    • Payoff loans and process paid files according to the established checklist.
    • Prepare payoff letters and prepare weekly payoff report.
    • Process and prepare participant remittances.
    • Research and prepare duplicate release requests.
    • Track and process unit/lot paydown letters, paydowns, and releases in connection with construction loans.
    • Perform an annual collateral audit.
    • Assist customers with inquiries.
    • Prepare ticket batches for the department’s items to be processed through branch capture at the teller line.
    • Access, review, and process reports, checklists, and procedures assigned in connection with the above responsibilities.
    • Travel to Darien office on occasion, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Team 2

    • Process the timely payment of real estate taxes on all escrowed loans.
    • Monitor and report any delinquent real estate taxes to upper management.
    • Process the timely payment of PMI premiums.
    • Monitor the status of the PMI requirements on a monthly basis.
    • Perform the annual escrow analysis of all loans with real estate tax escrows.
    • Monitor and coordinate the service provided by the bank’s contracted tax service provider.
    • Input and complete the new loan checklists for all new loans to be booked onto the system.
    • Perform the data scrub worksheet for all new loans, including inputting any/all data found into the system.
    • Perform file maintenance requests, including any necessary maintenance to participation loans.
    • Input and complete the modification checklists for all modifications/extensions/renewals to be booked onto the system.
    • Review the call code assigned to all new loans.
    • Process returned loan mail according to the established procedures.
    • Monitor the ARM loan portfolio to ensure proper rate/payment changes.
    • Prepare any manual billings/statements as needed.
    • Prepare the New Installment Loan report for the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.
    • Assist customers with inquiries.
    • Access, review, and process reports, checklists, and procedures assigned in connection with the above responsibilities.
    • Travel to Darien office on occasion, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Team 3

    • Prepare the daily balancing for Loan Control, and other daily GLs as assigned.
    • Prepare the month-end balancing for Loan Control, and other month-end GLs as assigned.
    • Review the GL Autobalancing report on a daily basis and research any out of balance conditions in order to clear them in a timely manner.
    • Review the file maintenance performed by the department in connection with the system generated reports to ensure that all actions were performed accurately and under proper authority.
    • Review the maintenance cross check report on a daily basis and research any errors that need to be cleared.
    • Input rate indexes, as assigned.
    • Review the Bank Control Change report for accurate rate changes and other changes performed within the loan system, as assigned.
    • Review and complete the “Checker” portion of the New Loan Checklist for all new loans booked to the system.
    • Review the loan disbursement check log on a daily basis.
    • Prepare various month-end reports, as assigned.
    • Perform research and prepare information requested on loans for legal purposes.
    • Assist customers with inquiries.
    • Retrieve Shoretel messages from department voicemail and respond in a timely manner.
    • Research and respond to credit bureau disputes.
    • Lock all department cabinets and drawers nightly to ensure the safety of customer information.
    • Access, review, and process reports, checklists, and procedures assigned in connection with the above responsibilities.
    • Travel to Darien office on occasion, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills


    • Familiar with a variety of the lending and general banking concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Ability to work and think independently.

    Required Experience


    • High School diploma or its equivalent.
    • 2 years' loan processing or loan servicing experience with a focus in commercial lending preferred.
  • Qualifications

    • Familiar with a variety of the lending and general banking concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
