Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, gerontology, psychology, counseling or closely related field to area of assignment. Requires one (1) year in social services casework, counseling or closely related field to area of assignment. Special Requirements: May be required to work nights/weekends/holidays. Special Certifications and Licenses Required: Must be licensed as a LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, and/or clinical psychologist in the State of Florida, or be able obtain Florida license based on license from another state. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License for duration of appointment. Preferences: Master's Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) or Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) Doctorate Degree in related field Bilingual English/Spanish DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary. This is advanced professional work involving in depth clinical assessment of high risk population including issues of alcohol abuse and/or drug abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual assault, child abuse and elder abuse. Work involves application of a variety of advanced diagnostic and assessment techniques including individual and group methodologies and skill training within established policies and procedures. Employees in this class perform with some autonomy and make independent judgments within established policies and procedures. Work is reviewed through supervision, conferences, reports and observation of work achievements. Coordinates treatment with community, governmental and service providers. Observes, evaluates, and monitors reports and records program participant status and progress. Conducts clinical interviews and biopsychosocial evaluations. Conducts group and individual counseling sessions. Develops treatment plans with program participants and/or their families. Maintains associated clinical records manually and/or electronically using computer based applications. Prepares accurate and timely written reports on assigned caseload using computer based software applications. Observes, evaluates, monitors, reports and records client status and progress. Counsels program participants, including those with complex issues; facilitates intimidate and advanced group sessions concerning substance abuse and co-occurring related issues. Provides advocacy services to clients (greets family, obtains consent for medical exam, walks client to the exam room, provides emotional support during the examination, provides counseling service referrals and any other referrals family may need). Links families to different agencies within the community, such as housing assistance, childcare, and foodbanks, to assist them with various needs. Assists clients with completing assistance applications. Participates in staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. Coordinates treatment with other community, governmental and service providers. Prepares accurate and timely written reports on assigned caseload as well as the quality and or quantity of work completed. Confers with program participants, their families and/or other care-givers regarding issues of treatment. Documents progress notes and tracks daily reports for documentation purposes. Assists with special projects assigned by the supervisor. Performs related work as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical Demands Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time or sustained keyboard operations.
