  • Responsibilities

    The Federal Health Sales Team Business Development Intern is responsible for leveraging quantitative and independent research skills in analysis of data to assist the federal health organization operations and sales to identify and assess business trends that may result in opportunities for revenue growth. This individual will support business development leadership and professionals performing research and analysis, as requested. Support tasks will include organizational research, market analysis, identification of solution and technology trends, development of competitive assessments, and detailed research into customers’ mission and strategy. This internship will lay the groundwork for the development of winning strategies to result in revenue growth. The Intern will work in integrated teams, learn key business functions, and hone research, analytical, and business strategy skills critical to any career.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Conduct market research and analysis that will lay the foundation for new and/or expanded growth market initiatives

    • Conduct internal research into Maximus federal health contracts to understand the business and set the stage for additional research

    • Utilize industry business intelligence data sources to conduct analysis of federal health contracts, forecasted opportunities, competitors, and market trends

    • Research business problems and opportunities in the context of federal health market and identify potential opportunities that enable the organization to achieve its goals

    • Conduct a SWOT analysis on a key Maximus competitor

    • Work with integrated teams that may include sales, strategy, operations, solutions, and marketing to implement business development initiatives

    • Brief capture status of projects to management at specified milestones in the research process

    • Time permitting, identify and analyze strategic relationships with partners and/or potential customers

    • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Actively seeking a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree

    • Research-oriented mindset

    • Strong communication skills, analytical presentation, and problem-solving skills

    • Interest in a career in healthcare and/or technology, preferred

    • Ability to work at home and perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment

    • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
