BWXT is hiring Security Officers to join our Lynchburg, Virginia facility Job Description / Summary The Security Officer is responsible for security/police duties in accordance with regulatory safeguards, procedures, policies and the Dept of Criminal Justice Services. Access control of personnel, packages, materials into and out of material access areas. Responsible for protection of classified material. Overtime and shift work is required. Job Requirements / Qualifications -Must have High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of college education OR High School Diploma or GED and be a Virginia DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer OR High School Diploma or GED and Military experience -Must be US citizen (no dual citizenship) -Must be at least 21 years old -Must possess a valid drivers license -Must complete physical agility test, physical exam, psychological evaluation, drug screen test -Must be able to obtain US Department of Energy "Q" clearance US Citizenship, with no dual citizenship is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
