EXTRAMURAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
POSITION SUMMARY
The Extramural Support Specialist will support funding opportunity announcements and manage a portfolio of cooperative agreements and public health programs around the globe and serve as liaison for various projects assigned by the Branch Chief and Extramural Team Lead.
EXTRAMURAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support for Grants and Research Pre-Award and Post Award agreements
- Assist program offices with searches/development and acquisition requests for funding opportunities
- Create funding search reports; draft funding opportunity announcements
- Coordinate with internal partners to develop process for extramural activities and cooperative agreement management
- Plan and organize activities to monitor progress of cooperative agreements and ensure procurements actions are completed on time.
- Manage the circulation of data for fiscal policy, expenditure, and allocation issues
- Maintain electronic files and ensure compliance with all provisions and applicable regulation for awarded funds
- Manage multi-country portfolio cooperative agreements for various types of partners (i.e. non profits, universities, foreign agreements and local indigenous organizations).
- Maintain spreadsheets and databases to track proposal submissions, awards, denials and new funding requests. Generate extramural funding reports on periodic basis.
- Establishes system to track all actions on SharePoint repository and tracking system
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must be US Citizen or eligible to work in the US
- Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite ( Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (includes editing and proofreading)
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environments
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects independently, often with tight deadlines.
- Experience with Grants Solutions software
- Experience with managing logistics
- CDC experience a plus but not required
- Experience working within government agency is required
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Public Health or equivalent field of study.
- At least two years experience as Extramural Support Specialist
