About Our Job The Denver International Airport is seeking a summer Planning and Design intern for our Planning team to assist in supporting the dynamic and rapid growth at DEN. This is a part-time internship with the potential to work up to 39 hours/week. This internship position is expected to have a start date of June 4, 2018, and end date of August 10, 2018. As an intern, you will be responsible for: * Preparing drawings of aircraft gate layout in AutoCAD

    • Preparing exhibits and FAA form 7460 required for construction preparation to ensure we are compliance with FAA rules and regulations and in harmony with the Airport Master Plan. * Exhibit preparations using Adobe/Acrobat or Arc GIS or Auto Cad * Conduct studies and planning research in areas such as landside facilities development, roadways, and parking * Conduct studies and planning research in areas such as passenger flow, optimization of aircraft layout, holdrooms, airfield layout and aircraft gate design * Work with team on expansion projects including the Great Hall, Concourse A, B and C expansion, Pena Blvd expansion, apron area construction projects, etc. * Assisting in facility inventory to ensure facilities are equipped for the demands of the airlines * Work with DEN GIS group for data validation and planning studies About You Our ideal candidate will have/be: * Currently pursuing a degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Planning, Civil Engineering, or Urban and Regional Planning * Knowledge experience ARC GIS, Auto Cad, MS office skills word, excel * Quick learner * History of being reliable and dependable * Strong attention to detail * Capacity to take initiative, self-starter * Ability to work collaboratively and independently while completing multiple projects in tandem * Excellent verbal and written communication * Excel in a fast pace and constantly changing environment * Proven to see projects through with tenacity * Desire to learn new things and be a critical thinker We realize your time is valuable so please do not apply if you do not have at least the following required minimum qualifications: * Completion of two years of college and current enrollment in a college program leading to a Baccalaureate Degree in a professional field specific to the departmental and/or work assignment. * This position requires possession of a valid Driver's License at the time of application to allow for driving on the non-movement area of the airfield.
