Airport (DEN) is seeking a Summer Airside Engineering Intern to assist
the Engineers with construction, design, and project management
oversight. Throughout the summer, the Airside Engineering Intern will
develop a broad understanding of design and construction projects taking
place behind the scenes on the airfield at Denver International Airport.
The intern will receive mentorship from experienced professionals in an
encouraging and supportive environment. This internship will have
exposure to expansion projects and seeing the overall process and
operations of these projects throughout the internship. Typical daily
activities include: construction jobsite visits, attending progress
meetings with consultants and contractors, shadowing and supporting
design through project managers and senior engineers. Additionally, the
intern will gain experience working with AutoCAD-Civil 3D, and assisting
the team with various aspects of construction administration and design
applications. This is an internship position with an expected start date
of June 4, 2018 and end date of August 10, 2018. As an intern, you will
be responsible for: * Construction inspection of current projects *
Review specifications and ensuring conformance to those specifications
as part of the inspection process * Assisting with design duties which
may include preparing estimates, research of design standards, and
completing drawings in AutoCAD-Civil 3D * Completing project summaries
and visual aids for presentations * Attend project, construction, &
design meetings About You Our ideal candidate will have/be: * A Civil,
Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical Engineering and or Construction
Management, Aviation Management/Planning student who has completed at
minimum their sophomore year of study * Ability to traverse uneven
ground or steep slopes for inspection purposes * Have access to clothing
appropriate for a construction site (long pants and boots), all personal
protective equipment (vest, hard hat, safety glasses) will be provided *
Ability to hold an airport ID badge * Must have a valid driver's license
- Possess good organizational skills & attention to detail * Enjoys
learning and navigating in a complex environment * Proven successful in
working collaboratively with others * Ability to work collaboratively
and independently while completing multiple tasks on projects * Passion
or interests in civil or electrical design and construction for aviation

program leading to a Baccalaureate Degree in a professional field
