    1412 Job Title: Front Desk Attendant Opening Date/Time: Fri. 02/23/18 12:00 AM Central Time Closing Date/Time: Thu. 01/10/19 5:00 PM Central Time Salary: $9.00/Hour Job Type: Part Time, No Benefits Location: Blue Springs, Missouri Department: Parks & Recreation JOB SUMMARY Benefits Supplemental Questions Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties for the Fieldhouse. Work involves extensive public contact with high priority on customer service. Assists patrons with inquiries regarding Department programs and facilities. Part Time - Various shifts available including evenings and weekends Applications reviewed throughout posting period DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Greet patrons in person, answering phones, questions, taking registrations and payments for programs, memberships, and facility reservations. 2. Assists patrons with inquiries regarding parks facilities and recreation programs. 3. In case of emergency, notify appropriate agency as dictated by emergency. 4. Be knowledgeable of all Department programs and services to answer questions or channel calls to the proper staff. Firm understanding of all Department programs and services and the ability to promote them. 5. Ability to adjust to quickly changing priorities and assignments. 6. Understanding of basic accounting practices and procedures. Ability to balance and reconcile daily cash receipts. 7. Assist office supervisors with administrative tasks including, but not limited to data entry, reporting, mailings, filing, etc. 8. Attend appropriate staff trainings. 9. Use of basic computer functions and ability to learn software utilized by the Department. Maintains class and league rosters as needed. 10. Maintain the front desk area in a clean and organized manner. 11. Communicate effectively with patrons, supervisors, and co-workers. 12. Follows protocols for opening and closing of facility. 13. Assist with other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education and Special License(s)/Certifications Acceptable combination of education and work experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. First Aid/CPR desired or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Experience At least 1 year past experience in general office work, secretarial, or customer service preferred. Knowledge of general office procedures. SKILLS, MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Skills Clear communication skills required. Detail oriented and works well under pressure. Must possess excellent customer service skills including face to face contact and telephone skills. Mental Requirements Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgement. Communicate effectively with patrons. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to effectively manage disgruntled customers Physical Requirements- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods; must be able to walk frequently; must be able to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and use general office equipment. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Supervisory Responsibility No direct supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position
