Schedules are subject to change to meet the operational needs of the Chesapeake Expressway. The Chesapeake Expressway Division of Public Works is seeking a full-time toll collector to perform responsible clerical work in the collection of tolls charged to motorists for using the Chesapeake Expressway Toll Road. Essential duties include receiving and accounting for monies, assessing and recording the appropriate toll, and maintaining the order and cleanliness of tollbooth work area. Qualifications include general knowledge of the procedures of cashier duties, the ability to do simple arithmetic and to count and handle money with speed and accuracy, and the ability to serve the public courteously. Required Qualifications VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL: Requires a high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education requirement, this position requires a minimum of one month of related, full-time equivalent experience.
