This is a responsible technical and administrative coordinator position assisting in analyzing, implementing, and maintaining a strong proactive CRP program to meet program goals. Positions allocated to this classification report to the District Chief and work under general direction. Work in this class is distinguished from other classes by its application of professional skills in leading projects in a team/project environment. Tasks to be performed may include but not be limited to: Identifies, prioritizes, and resolves reported problems including unmet social needs of program patients to reduce 911 abuse, decrease hospital readmission, and increase patient quality of life. Assists with analysis of input requirement and design output reports based on user needs to measure program success. Drives emergency vehicles and performs home visits to evaluate for safety and fall position and performs direct patient assessment and treated at the Basic Life Support level. Develops relations with regional hospitals and social service programs to increase access for program patients. Assist with GFR Operation C.A.R.E. as a CPR instructor. Researches and works with department and City grant managers to apply for applicable grant funding and assists with strategic planning for EMS programs. Coordinates with CRP Medical Director to create care plans for program patients. Assists in analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining a strong and proactive CRP program to meet program goals as established by GRF's EMS Chief. Schedules work and trains part/time UF student interns. Acts as liaison to outside related governmental, educational and non-profit agencies. To be considered for this position you must have: Bachelor degree from an accredited university with major course work broadly related to social services, preferred public health degree, or related field and Two (2) years progressive experience in the social service realm. Licenses: Valid driver license required upon appointment. Certifications: Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic certification Emergency Vehicle Operations Course AHA CPR certifications. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor degree from an accredited university with major course work broadly related to social services, preferred public health degree, or related field and two (2) years progressive experience in the social service realm. Time working in a community resource program or paramedicine program preferred. CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES Licenses Valid driver license required upon appointment. Valid Florida Driver license required within thirty (30) days of start date and at all times while employed in this classification. Certifications Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic certification Emergency Vehicle Operations Course AHA CPR certifications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of federal and State regulations and directives. Knowledge of hospital, social service, and City operational systems and procedures. Knowledge of budget and accounting principles. Knowledge of administrative practices. Ability to organize and plan work and analyze situations, programs, and problems. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to coach and mentor others. Ability to be proactive and take initiative to get things done without prompting. Ability to cope well in stressful environments. Ability to multitask and successfully handle various and sundry tasks. Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact collaboratively and productively and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds including elected and appointed government officials, Charter Officers, City employees, representatives of other agencies, and the general public. Skill in operative an emergency motor vehicle. Proficient in second language. Proficient in the use of computer software and data entry. Proficient in the use of EMS equipment. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee must meet the moral, educational, health, and physical requirements prescribed by the City. Pre-employment medical examination is required including satisfactory drug screening. Work requires physical strength and agility. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work requires performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions and walking on uneven terrain. Required to work and attend meetings outside regular business hours.
