    MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST - Cleveland Community Police Commission Salary $27,326.56 - $45,000.00 Annually Location 6001 - Public Safety Admin Job Type Full-time Department 6010 - Public Safety - Community Police Commission Job Number N2466-HR Closing 1/11/2019 11:59 PM Eastern Description Marketing & Communications Specialist Position Cleveland Community Police Commission About the Cleveland Community Police Commission: The Cleveland Community Police Commission (the "Commission" or "CPC") is one of the mechanisms within the consent decree entered into between the City of Cleveland and the U.S. Department of Justice to promote ongoing community input in: the development of reforms, the establishment of police priorities, and the increasing of community confidence in the Cleveland Division of Police ("CDP") ("Settlement Agreement: United States of America v. City of Cleveland", para. 15). The specific purpose of the Commission within this context is to serve as a mechanism for leveraging the experience and expertise of the people of Cleveland to ensure that the CDP recognizes and operates in a manner consistent with cooperative community understanding and engagement. The mission of the Community Police Commission is to make recommendations on policies and practices related to community and problem-oriented policing, bias-free policing, and police transparency; to work with the many communities that make up Cleveland for the purpose of developing recommendations for police practices that reflect an understanding of the values and priorities of Cleveland residents; and to report to the City and community as a whole and to provide transparency on police department reforms. Examples of Duties Position Overview: The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be employed by the City of Cleveland and is subject to the rules and regulations of the City, thereby subject to public records requests. As an employee of the City of Cleveland, the Marketing and Communications Specialist is eligible for standard City benefits. This position is funded by the City of Cleveland, but may be time-limited by when the conditions of the consent decree are met. The salary for this position will be based on credentials and experience. Scope of work: The Marketing and Communication Specialist reports to the Executive Director and coordinates social media, traditional media and marketing efforts of the CPC. Duties: Create and manage the "brand" of the CPC Support the CPC's Community Outreach and Engagement Committee, the Policy and Procedure Assessment Committee and its work groups, and other committees Maintain and manage the CPC Website, Twitter Account and Facebook Page and other Social Media Produce written products such as reports, press releases and brochures that regularly pitch the work product, vision and mission of the CPC Liaison with TV20 City Television production crews to review, edit and produce video media for the Commission Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets and media personnel on behalf of the CPC. Coordinate Commissioner interviews and messaging strategies Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED is required A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or closely related field is preferred. Two (2) years of full-time, paid, progressively responsible experience in program administration is required Must be able to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds. Must have a valid Ohio State Driver's license Additional Preferred Qualifications Specialization in Communication, Marketing, Media Design, or closely related field preferred. Government or non-profit work is preferred. Demonstrated experience in market analysis and online media analytics Demonstrated experience in Google Suite environment and Google analytics Must demonstrate effective analytical, verbal and written communication skills Networked connections with local Cleveland Media outlets preferred Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software preferred Must be reliable, punctual, and organized. Able to work effectively within diverse communities This is a full-time position with an anticipated salary range of $27,325.56 - $45,000.00, commensurate with experience, and excellent benefits.
