    Job Description

    • Oversee and steer implementation of the equity policy agenda at the COVID-19 Emergency Operation (EOC) Task Force.
    • Serve as adviser to COVID-19 EOC Task Force and Department of Public Health leadership, ensuring a Community First model of engagement in pandemic response efforts.
    • Serve as equity and community engagement subject matter expert as someone who has a minimum of three years of experience developing relationships and collaborating with community-based organizations, providing a consultative and systematic implementation approach to enable the City to achieve measurable results through equity and while accountable to community needs.
    • Develop, revise, and/or update EOC Task Force equity strategy based on changing needs in the pandemic response and to address disparities in health outcomes.
    •  Inform and advise all messaging from the EOC Task Force internally and externally to ensure they are reflective of the City’s equity principles.
    • Work directly in partnership with the City’s priority communities in implementing and building capacity for COVID-19 response, and manage community liaisons engaged in the same.
    • Collaborate with other City agencies to drive key equity strategies in pandemic response and for recovery planning efforts.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

    Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

    EXPERIENCE:

    Four (4) years of professional experience in community organization and outreach experience which includes outreach to residents, organizing events, and supporting action towards defined goals within communities disproportionately impacted.

    SUBSTITUTION: Additional qualifying full-time work experience (2000 hours equals one year) may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required education. (One year of experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester or 45 quarter units of college coursework.)

    One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours of work experience (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours a week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: The stated desirable qualifications listed below may be used to identify job finalists at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

    • Two (2) of the three (3) years of experience described above to be supervisory experience.
    • One (1) year of professional experience with an emphasis on implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion solutions or leading workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion programs which improves equity for staff and customers of services, including experience coaching employees or providing consultation on DEI related matters.
    • Six (6) months of professional experience through COVID-19 response efforts
    • Experience in advocacy/government relations with public or non-profit entities.
    • Experience working in government/public sector.
    • Experience working with community in San Francisco.
    • Experience with strategic planning development, implementation, and tracking.
