    The Systems Division of the Controller’s Office is recruiting a 1052 Functional Business Analyst job class to support the following product team:

    • SF FINANCIALS: PeopleSoft Financials & Supply Chain Management (FSCM) enterprise resource planning system suite with an emphasis on the Finance modules: General Ledger, Asset Management, Billing, Cash/AR, Accounts Payable, Expense, Commitment Control, Cash Management, eSettlements, Project Costing, Customer Contracts, Grants.

    The Functional Business Analyst position is responsible for business analysis and documentation which involves acquiring and documenting knowledge from subject matter experts throughout various City and County of San Francisco Departments and for translating this knowledge into functional solutions that are designed, tested, and implemented in the PeopleSoft Financial and Procurement system. 

    Essential duties include but are not limited to analyzing large-scale business processes and problems; developing solutions involving the use of computer systems, information flow and architecture; creating specifications for systems to meet requirements; validating requirements against needs; designing details of automated systems; developing user interface design; planning and executing unit integration and acceptance testing. The role may lead cross-functional teams to solve complex business or systems issues.

    Education: An associate degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].  EXPERIENCE: One (1) year in the information systems field, including technical support, content management, administration of network applications or system analysis. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION: Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Working knowledge in one or more of the following PeopleSoft Modules: Accounts Receivable, Billing, Contracts, Grants and Project Costing modules.
    • Some knowledge of grants process and procedures
    • Working knowledge of Government Accounting
    • Knowledge relating to the design of applications programs
    • Time management
