    Job Description

    MAJOR DUTIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

    1.       Develop tech service connector component of Fiber to Housing (FTH) program role, applying a racial equity lens to services.

    2.       Coordinate the FTH program services reaching residents served by high-speed fiber, including router distribution and onboarding and tech support.

    3.       Develop and implement a plan and solution for resolving Internet infrastructure problems at flagged sites.

    4.       Streamline communication and tracking systems with main FTH partners, including the Department of Technology, ISP provider(s), and onsite staff (residential services and property management) – to improve coordination.

    5.       Improve public awareness and visibility of SFDE and FTH programs in coordination with MOHCD communications manager and Department of Technology.

    6.       Help support the implementation of the Digital Equity Playbook resources for resident referral, specifically for digital literacy training and online safety.

    7.       Work with FTH residents requesting digital literacy training with referral recommendation to culturally competent providers.

    8.       Assist in new FTH site and portfolio management.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of San Francisco’s neighborhoods and social services infrastructure
    • Ability to work in a highly detail- and task-oriented, fast-paced, trauma-informed environment
    • Experience managing or coordinating community development programming
    • Experience working in a government and/or non-profit setting interacting with the development and implementation of programs that serve low-income communities.
    • Knowledge of and experience with serving low-income residents
    • Knowledge of and experience with serving residents of affordable housing.
    • Experience in speaking effectively before individuals and groups in government, non-profit and community settings
    • Proficiency in operating computers using Windows-based programs, including word processing, spreadsheet and database software in a standard indoor office environment
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports, recommendations and correspondence

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, criminal justice or elections related work; OR
    2. Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the following fields: public or business administration, urban planning, government, social work, education, finance or criminal justice AND one (1) year of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, criminal justice or elections related work; OR
    3. Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public policy, planning, social work, public administration, finance, education, criminal justice, or business administration; OR
    4. Possession of a Ph.D. or Juris Doctor degree from an accredited college or university. SUBSTITUTION: Verifiable administrative/professional experience involving community development, housing and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, criminal justice and/or elections related work may substitute for the educational requirement in Minimum Qualification #1 on a year-for-year basis
