Job Description
Under the supervision and guidance of the Sr. Community Development Specialist II, the 3374 Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator is responsible to coordinate and manage an area of San Francisco Recreation and Parks volunteer program, such as natural areas, trails, recreational programs, service learning/environmental education and/or parks. The work of this position is mostly done in an office or community setting, but one day of remote work may be allowed.

Qualifications
These minimum qualifications are to be used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which may be required for employment in the class. Although these minimum qualifications are typical of the class, additional minimum qualifications and special conditions may apply to a particular position and will be stated on the job announcement.
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND
2. One year (2000 hours) of experience supervising, coordinating or directing volunteer services and/or community outreach services in an organization which provides services to the public.
Substitution: Additional experience supervising, coordinating or directing volunteer and/or community relations services, as described above, may be substituted for up to two years of the required baccalaureate degree on a year-for-year basis.
Special Condition: Six (6) months of experience in a role dedicated to volunteer programs working with community leaders and residents of underserved communities within a public parkland environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE (WEIGHT: QUALIFYING): Applicants will be required to complete a Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire that will be emailed. Applicants will be required to respond to the MQSQ in the time frame indicated, and submit their answers as directed.
SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE: WEIGHT: 100% Qualified candidates will be sent a supplemental questionnaire exam that must be completed by the set date. Candidates will be evaluated on their relative knowledge, skill and ability levels in job-related areas. A passing score must be achieved on the Supplemental Questionnaire in order to be placed/ranked on the Eligible List. Candidate responses on the Supplemental Questionnaire cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates will be placed in rank order according to their final score on the Supplemental Questionnaire.
ELIGIBLE LIST/SCORE REPORT: A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created, and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
ELIGIBLE LIST DURATION: The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be of six (6) months, and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.

CERTIFICATION RULE: The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be Rule of 3 scores. Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.
Upon approval of the Human Resource Director (see Civil Service Rule 111A.26.5), the eligible list/score report resulting from this announcement may be used by other departments that also use this classification or a similar classification.
