_ Appointment Type_
This is a Temporary Exempt (TEX), full-time position up to two years. This position is excluded by the Charter from the competitive Civil Service examination process, is considered "at will" and shall serve at the discretion of the Department Head. If applicable, an exempt employee must participate and be successful in a Civil Service examination process for this classification and be selected through an open competitive recruitment process to be considered for a permanent appointment.
_ What You'll Be Doing_
The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing has an exempt 2930 Behavioral Health Clinician vacancy within their Permanent Supportive Housing/Support Services Division.
Under the general supervision of the Senior Behavioral Health Clinician, 2930 Behavioral Health Clinicians in this division lead and work with a team of caseworkers to support clients struggling with complex medical, psychiatric, substance use, and other psychosocial stressors to stabilize and maintain housing. Incumbents will provide intensive clinical case management, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, crisis intervention and 5150 assessment, referral to higher levels of care, referrals to substance use treatment programs, intake assessment, psychosocial assessment and service plan development with the client, consultation, and coordinating closely with outside care teams and property management to develop successful support strategies/interventions that support successful outcomes for the clients. Incumbents also advocates and coordinates care on an on-going basis with other agencies, families, and clients and provides clinical supervision for paraprofessional caseworkers.
